This weekend's winds took me on a somewhat random adventure to Kentucky for
ethnographic research with Cherry. Sadly, the project pretty much fell through, but we still had a blast together (Ali, next time it's going to rock!). Some highlights:
- Hot Brown, oh my gosh delicious!
- Butternut Squash soup at Wolfgang pucks in SLC and Cincinnati. I know I usually dislike chain restaurants. This place is an exception.
- Hanging out with Cher. Just like old times, except she's married now and I'm still single. Hmm.
- Airport romance. Sigh.
Okay, okay here's the story. A beautiful-haired man sitting in front of me from
Louisville to
Cincinnati told me, with his eyes, that he loved me. I promised myself that if by some random and ridiculous chance he flew to Salt Lake I would, without concern for his sexual orientation, religion, or general
ideology, offer him my hand in marriage.
Not seeming like a Utah dweller, you can appreciate my surprise when he wandered to our gate right before boarding. Making shy smiles at each other the rest of the way home, an opportunity finally presented itself for us to officially meet. At that exact moment a very nice woman began a very intense conversation with me. When I looked up, he had vanished. (Beautiful man: if you read this, I stay true to my promise. I am yours. Please do not be married as that would foil the plans I made for us.)

Cherry and I visit the Louisville temple. Can you see us?

A blown glass model of the Kentucky Derby. Yours for $3 million.

Kissing a
leprechaun. Part of guest services at the world famous Kentucky Derby racetracks, he regularly dresses up. His most favorite being when he gets to wear the jockey
costume ("I have women pinching my tush all day! It's great!").

Dining at Mark's Feed Store.
Terrific!

In front of the science
museum.

Causing a little mischief at the Louisville Slugger factory.
As always, great times!
